Dr. Wendy James completed her Bachelor of Science in Vancouver at Simon Fraser University and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 2000. Dr. Wendy's passion is allergic skin disease and she completed her Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in Dermatology in September 2016 from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. She also has a certificate in natural nutrition from the College of Integrative Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Wendy has been with Southpointe Pet Hospital from the first day it opened and enjoys the long term relationships she has with many of her clients and patients.
Other professional interests include behaviour and working/sport dog medicine. She has many pets of her own, including multiple Devon Rex cats and dogs who enjoy chasing gophers on 30 acres. Her interests outside of work include pretty much anything outdoors plus competing in agility and scent detection with her Belgian Malinois. Dr. Wendy also is the Team Veterinarian for Canada Task Force 2 - an urban search and rescue organization.
